Elsbree and Jackson family papers, 1825-1875.

Papers of these related families include the accounts (1841-1874) of David Elsbree, recording amounts which he and others received for food, liquor, lodging, stabling horses, and other goods and services, as well as farm labor expenditures, weather observations, recipes, and directions for the treatment of human and animal disorders; and accounts (1852-1860) of Elsbree's son-in-law, Samuel Increase Jackson, for farm and household, funeral and estate settlement, and logging and lumbering expenses, as well as weather records. Also, articles of agreement for working the Jackson farm on shares; fragmentary loose accounts, receipts, bills, and memoranda; and typescript biographical and genealogical data, and extracts from wills and property deeds compiled by Clifford M. Buck of Salt Point. Includes material concerning the towns of Clinton, Pleasant Valley, Stanford, and Washington, all in Dutchess County, New York.
